Mojo Bar & The Chopping Board Kitchen: Mojo’s motto is ‘Music for the People, Food for the Soul’. It’s centrally located on Worthing Main Road, not far from the popular St Lawrence Gap. Mojo's prides itself on being the “local’s pub” of Barbados with a relaxed vibe. Given their motto, you probably will have guessed that music is the central theme of this bar. Fish Pot: Dining at the Fish Pot restaurant at Little Good Harbour is a reason in itself to visit Barbados. This unusual restaurant is park of a converted fort and sits directly on the beach at Sherman's and the open terrace dining area looks out to the ocean beyond. Set in the small eighteenth-century fort at the water's edge, the restaurant is airy and informal. The chef takes a purist's approach to cooking, and shuns stuffing, rolling, or otherwise playing with the food. He uses the freshest ingredients--flying them in if necessary--and pumps up the flavor with local seasonings. The result includes a pan-fried mahi-mahi so delicately flavored that it's sublime, and a lamb shank worthy of Henry VIII, with a dark, bold, and fragrant bite. Lonestar: The Lone Star restaurant, with spectacular ocean-front setting, is described by delighted diners as “a temple of cool”. Mullins Beach Bar: Located seaside on the leeward coast near Speightstown. Nishi:  This restaurant is located on the West Coast of Barbados on the ever-popular night life strip known among locals as ‘Second Street.’  The self-dubbed East meets West themed restaurant serves up an interesting selection. Orange Street Grocer: Absolutely fantastic gourmet Deli in the heart of Speightstown, which is full of tradition and real Caribbean. The Orange Street Grocer sells handmade wood fired pizzas, yummy daily changing baguettes, all made on homemade bread, organic salads, decent wines and ice cold beer and champagne. Pepenero: Located in Limegrove, Pepenero is simple Italian cooked with love...their way. Uncomplicated, fresh ingredients with their spin on traditional Italian cuisine. Also sister restaurant to Lemongrass, located right across the way.

Scarlet: Scarlet is a trendy little cocktail bar and bistro that really is Scarlet by name and nature. The bright red chattel house is in Paynes Bay, St James on the stylish West Coast of Barbados and is not difficult to miss! Historically, chattel houses were the homes of plantation workers but when you walk into Scarlet, you could be in a chic bar in a big city, not a relaxed island paradise. The interior of Scarlet consists of a single room and is painted a vibrant red colour with the exception of the Andy Warhol prints of Marilyn Monroe and Jackie-O. The furniture is black and the chairs all have a large martini glass on the back of the seat which pays homage to their cocktails. The piece de resistance is the large kitsch disco ball in the centre of the room. Scarlet’s Hunger menu consists of a mixture of Bajan dishes with a twist and comfort food. One of the more popular main courses is Miss Francis’ Fish Pie, but there are a number of dishes to choose from. Alternatively, people are positively encouraged to sit at the bar, enjoy a few cocktails from their Thirst Menu and indulge in some of their delicious appetisers. Sitar: Sitar aims to give its customers a taste of East Indian Cuisine in the West Indies. The restaurant is at the end of busy 2nd Street in Holetown and is one of the few authentic Indian restaurants on the island. The dishes on Sitar’s menu range from the mild to the extremely hot so it’s diverse enough to keep everyone happy. Sitar’s cuisine is largely North Indian, its 2 chefs are from Punjab and Delhi in North India, but there are also South Indian dishes on the menu. The restaurant is large enough to be spacious and small enough to be intimate. For those who wish to have a bit more privacy, there’s a private dining room which seats up to 12 people comfortably as well as a private lounge at the back of the restaurant. 432-2248.

Tides: Dining at The Tides has been summed up as 'an experience' and that is exactly what it is. Round House: Built in 1832, this restaurant lies on sloping, grass-covered lawns punctuated with solid, coral-stone retaining walls. You are ushered  to a table perched atop a rocky ledge opening onto the Bathsheba "Soup Bowl," the best surfing beach, only a half-hour drive from Bridgetown. The freshest of ingredients go into the wholesome food, which is made all the more delightful by a reggae band on Saturday nights or a guitarist on Sundays. Tuck into such appetizers as flying fish pâté or brie baked in a light-rum-and-walnut sauce.
